Regular activities and programs at The Place: Charlestown Community Centre include:
- Indoor sports for children 18mths - 7yrs (coming soon!)
- Do-re-mi music for children 0yrs - 6yrs, Monday mornings, term based
- Computer Classes (with Tafe Outreach)
- Tai-chi with the Australian Academy of Tai-Chi, Wednesday mornings, term based
- Immunisation clinic, 2nd Thursday of the month, hosted by Hunter New England Health
- KidSafe workshops with morning tea, monthly
- Studio 79 dance classes (fusion of hip hop, pop, funk and jazz), Tuesday evenings
- Martial arts, Monday and Thursday afternoons / evenings
- Taekwondo, Tuesday afternoons
- Newcaslte Irish Set Dancers, Tuesday evenings
- Tuesday Club, senior ladies social club, weekly morning tea, guest speakers
- Free entry to youth centre (Thursdays 6pm-9pm), pool tables, table tennis, air-hockey (coin), arcade games table (coin), free food and drink, music, DVDs, drug and alcohol free hosted by Eastlake Youth Centre
- New Body New Life seniors exercise, Monday and Friday mornings
- National Seniors, 1st Thursday of the month, guest speaker and morning tea
- Support meetings, including regular meetings of the Scleroderma Lupus Support Society Inc
- Art 2 Go after school art classes, Wednesday and Friday afternoons, term based
